Large sea bird with a daggerlike bill. Adults are mostly white with a yellowish wash on the head and neck with black flight feathers. Northern Gannets spend most of their time at sea, but at many beaches on the Atlantic Coast there are at least a few close enough to be visible from shore.
Slim but sturdy songbirds with a medium-long tail and a sharply pointed bill. Adult males are bright orange with black back and large white wing patch. Note black line through eye and black throat. Look for them in open woodland along streams, orchards, parks and oak woodlands.
Medium-sized songbird with a short tail, and a long, spear-shaped bill. Breeding birds are bright yellow below with a black V on the chest.
