The Grasshopper Sparrow is a small American sparrow. Adults have upperparts streaked with brown, grey, black and white; they have a light brown breast, a white belly and a short brown tail. Their face is light brown with an eye ring and a dark brown crown with a central narrow light stripe.
Large, chunky sparrow with a large head. Face is gray; bill is black and yellow. Fox Sparrows spend a lot of time on the ground. They spend winters in scrubby habitat and forest, when they are most likely to be seen kicking around under backyard bird feeders.
Looks like a hawk with its sharp beak and talons, behaves like a vulture, and is technically a large tropical black-and-white falcon.Juveniles are brown and white and lack the adult's yellow-orange legs and facial skin. The Caracara only reaches a few states in the southern U.S.
